This setting controls the behavior of the laser when it is idle. With Taunting enabled, the laser will periodically move a small amount. This is designed to simulate a bug or a mouse, and to excite your pet's peripheral vision. If Taunting is off, the laser will not move while at rest, unless it is being hunted.

Taunting is designed to simulate small movements made by bugs and mice, as well as excite your pet's peripheral vision.

While enabling Taunting may get your pet's attention faster, some pets are reluctant to hunt prey that moves sporadically. Some cats specifically want to wait until the prey is no longer moving before executing a pounce. A jittering target may cause them to be unsure about the exact timing of their attack.

Taunting Enabled

Enable Taunting if your pet gets excited about prey that is moving about.

Taunting Disabled

Disable Taunting if your pet prefers to take her time pouncing on stationary prey.
