Overview

This article describes how to replace or re-seat the USB board for Felik devices hardware v1.1.


Background


If you have purchased your Felik prior to September 1st, 2019 (Indiegogo Campaign) and your Felik device is exhibiting any of the below symptoms, this article may help restore functionality. 

  • Beeping & flashing red with error codes 5, 6, or 7 (during boot)
  • Lack of live video feed, despite an otherwise stable connection
  • Intermittent connectivity problems

The likely cause of these symptoms is a loose USB board. If the USB board is not making good contact (or has popped out due to shipping, etc), then the device may experience above listed problems. 


Procedure


  1. Begin by taking the top cover off, as described in this article: https://felik.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/44001193498

  2. Gently pull on the flex cable attached to the side of the USB board to disconnect it:


  3. Pull out the USB board:


  4. [Recommended] To make the USB connection more snug, gently pinch the USB board's male USB connector:


  5. Plug the USB board back in.

  6. Insert the flex cable back into the USB board.
