The most common reason is due to a momentary power outage. Felik boots up in around 30 seconds, which is quicker than most Wi-Fi routers. Upon booting up, Felik will use the stored Wi-Fi settings to try and re-connect to your home Wi-Fi for the next 15-30 seconds. If during this time Felik is unable to connect to your home Wi-Fi (perhaps because the router was still booting up), then it will revert back to "hotspot" mode and emit a Wi-Fi network called "Felik_abcd" (where "abcd" is a random alphanumeric sequence related to the device's serial number).
To re-connect Felik to your home Wi-Fi network, perform the following steps:
- Go to your mobile device's Wi-Fi settings and connect to Felik's hotspot.
- Open the Felik mobile app and wait for it to connect.
- Go to Menu > Wi-Fi and tap Scan. Felik will now search for nearby Wi-Fi networks.
- Once discovered, select your home Wi-Fi and enter the passcode.
- Felik will now attempt to connect to your home Wi-Fi*.
* If you accidentally type in an incorrect passcode, Felik will revert back to "hotspot" mode within 30 seconds and you will be able to try again.
** If Felik disconnects from your home Wi-Fi too frequently (several times a week or more), it could be due to a faulty power adapter. Please reach out to customer service to have the power adapter replaced under warranty.
