If the laser appears to shine on the pet while they are chasing it, consider increasing the Responsiveness setting as it controls how close the animal is allowed to get to the laser before it begins moving away. You may also need to bump up the Sensitivity setting one step, though try just the Responsiveness first.
This will greatly depend on your animal's hunting style, though the general rule of thumb is that you want this setting set higher if your room is larger and Felik is mounted higher up.
